Our guests primarily come from the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. We welcome English-speaking travelers from all over the world who share a passion for castles, history, and cultural exploration.
Many of Europe's most impressive castles were built on strategic heights, hilltops, and remote locations — by design. They are often far from major cities and difficult to reach by public transport. Our tours solve this with private transportation, from luxury coaches and minivans to horse-drawn carriages, cable cars, and boats — getting you to places that would take hours to reach independently.
Yes, absolutely. We provide comprehensive interior tours with expert guides at every castle — not just drive-by photo stops. You will explore the state rooms, halls of mirrors, royal bedchambers, and hidden passages with commentary that brings the history to life. We arrange skip-the-line access at all major attractions so you spend your time experiencing the castles, not waiting in queues.
All entrance fees to castles and attractions, expert guide fees, and all transportation during the tour — including luxury coach, horse-drawn carriages, cable cars, and boats where applicable. There are no hidden extras and no optional paid excursions. For multi-day tours, hotel accommodations and most meals are also included. What you see in the price is what you pay.
For multi-day tours: all breakfasts are included, as are most dinners (typically all except 1-2 evenings where you are free to explore on your own). Lunches are generally on your own, giving you the freedom to discover local restaurants at your own pace. For day tours, meals are not included but your guide will recommend excellent local options.
All transportation is included and varies by tour: luxury coach with up to 47 seats for group tours, private minivans for smaller groups, plus horse-drawn carriages to Neuschwanstein, cable cars to mountain castles, boats to island palaces like Herrenchiemsee, and more. You never need to worry about logistics — we handle everything.
You can book directly through our website by visiting any tour page, or contact us via email at info@europeancastlestours.com. We will confirm availability, discuss any special requests, and send you a booking confirmation. For day tours, you can also book instantly through our secure online checkout.
Pricing varies by tour and is based on group size — the more guests, the lower the per-person price. Multi-day tours range from $3,299 to $5,399 per person (USD), day tours from €140 to €642 per person (EUR). Both double and single occupancy rates are available on each tour page. All prices are fully inclusive with no hidden fees.
No, international flights are not included in the tour price. However, airport transfers are provided for all multi-day tours. We are happy to advise on the best airports and flight connections for your specific tour.
We offer a 100% money-back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied after the first night of a multi-day tour, we will refund the full tour price. We have been offering this guarantee since 2004 and have never had a guest take us up on it — but we believe it says everything about our confidence in the experience we provide.
The best months for castle tours are May, June, and early July, as well as September and early October. The weather is pleasant, the gardens are in bloom, and the crowds are manageable. For Christmas market tours, December is magical with snow-covered castles and festive markets throughout Bavaria.
Europe uses 220 volts with two round pin plugs (Type C/F). If you are traveling from the US, Canada, or other countries using 110V, you will need a plug adapter. Most modern electronics (phones, laptops, cameras) handle dual voltage automatically — just check the label on your charger. We recommend bringing an adapter from home.
You will need a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining beyond your travel dates. US, Canadian, British, Australian, and New Zealand citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days in the Schengen Area (which covers Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and most European countries on our tours). Always check current requirements with your country's foreign affairs office before traveling.
Our multi-day tours have a maximum of 30 guests, though groups are typically much smaller. Day tours are private — just you and your party with a dedicated guide and vehicle. We deliberately keep groups small to ensure a personal, intimate experience at every castle and attraction.
